Aztecs Sweep USC
The Aztecs took the ice Friday night against USC in their first game of the season beating the Trojans 3-1. Saturday night, the Aztecs traveled to Anaheim for a rematch and came out victorious with a 9-1 win.

2008-2009 Schedule Announced
The San Diego State Aztecs have announced their schedule for the upcoming season which includes home games against UCLA and USC! Be sure to check out the schedule for all upcoming games and be sure to mark your calendars!
Remembering Coach Rick
Assistant Coach Rick Miller passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 after a bout with cancer over the past several months. Rick was a coach, a mentor, and a friend and will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Although we only knew him for a short time, he made an indelible mark on Aztec Hockey and the lives of our young men. read more>>
San Diego State Makes the Jump to ACHA Division II
The ACHA recently announced that San Diego State University will jump from DIII to DII competition beginning the 2008-2009 season. The jump comes after the Aztecs finished 2nd in the Nation in Division III last year.
Coach David Hough Named ACHA West Region Coach of the Year
San Diego State Coach David Hough was recently named ACHA West Region Coach of the Year after leading the Aztecs to the National Championships for the second year in a row! Also being recognized was Sophomore Ben Nicoll who was named to the All-West First Team. Kolin Ozonian and Lane Smith were added to the All-West Second Team.
Aztecs Claim 2nd Place in Nation
In the Championship game saturday night the Aztecs fell to Cal of Penn. in Rochester, Minnesota. It was a hard fought game that saw the Aztecs jump out of the gate early in the first but unable to capitalize on early oppurtunities. Cal struck first and rolled with the momentum to an eventual 7-3 victory with some outstanding saves by their goaltender.

Following the game the All-Tournament teams were announced and the winning teams were honored with trophy ceremonies. Tommy Neer earned All-Tournament First Team Honors, while Goalie Jacob Kalmonson, Forward Ben Nicoll, and Center Kolin Ozonian were all honored with all Second-Team honors.
The weekend capped an unforgettable season by the Aztecs. After coming out of nowhere last year to gain a bid to Nationals, to this year beating some of the best teams in the Nation on the biggest stage. The Aztecs went 23-1 during regular season play, finished #2 in the ACHA Pacific Division, won the PCHA title for the second consecutive year, and now finished #2 in the Nation. All around it was a great year and would like to thank all of the fans and parents who made this all possible. Thanks for a great season everyone, see you next year... (check back for more photo's)
